↠ THE CHARACTER
Name | Alias: Chuuya Nakahara
Journal: goatsongs
Age: 30. Looks somewhere in the teenager range, but he was that short and baby-faced in real life too.
Canon: Bungou to Alchemist
Canon point: 'Post-Aka and Ao's Research on Alchemy' event.
History: Bungou to Alchemist story (all you really need for Chuuya is the introduction part), Bungou to Alchemist Chuuya, IRL Chuuya.

Personality: First impressions of Chuuya will probably be made while Chuuya is drunk, because make no mistake: Chuuya is drunk a whole heck of a lot. He drinks to celebrate, he drinks when he's upset, he drinks to socialize. He's an angry drunk, and prone to picking fights - which he almost always loses, because he's 5'1" and with basically no muscle mass. (He's a poet, after all.) After those fights end in the other person's favor, he acts like nothing ever happened. He also tends to go on long drunken rants that make no sense but sure sound poetic.

Chuuya is a bully, plain and simple - he enjoys picking on people who don't put up resistance. He's an arrogant asshole who quotes his own poems and refers to himself as a genius, not that it isn't a little bit deserved given that he was being published in elementary school and is famous long after his death. He's rude as heck even when he likes the person he's talking to. That said, he also does want to make friends - he just doesn't know how.

He does have a sensitive side, that pretty much only comes out in his poetry. It's basically the only way he can express himself, and given all the crap that's happened to him (the love of his life dumped him for his best friend, his deeply beloved son died young, etc.) it's not terribly surprising that he's good at expressing pain and loss. Just... only in his writing. He drinks because it's the only way he can deal with the pain that comes from loss, but even drinking isn't enough to actually get rid of that pain.

He's not a complete asshole. He's good to kids, and he plays with the authors in the game who've been brought back as kids. In life he was an incredibly doting father. There are people he looks up to - he still carries around a book of Miyazawa Kenji's poetry. He might be argumentative, impatient, and way too proud of himself, but he's not a bad person. Especially on the rare occasions when he's sober.

Abilities and Nerfs: Chuuya is the spirit of a book, or technically the author's memories attached to a book. He can heal his injuries by consuming ink. His copy of his poetry collection 'Goat Songs' can be turned into a gun, and he's capable of going inside of books. He can't bring a flesh-and-blood person inside a book even if he wanted to.
Inventory: His book/gun Goat Songs, since it's sort of his soul and he needs it to be close by. His outfit including his hat. A bottle of sake.
