[You suddenly find yourself in the entrance to a library. Well, it should be an entrance - if you turn around, there isn’t a door behind you, but there’s a desk that says ‘RETURNS’ and a desk that says ‘HELP’, both with containers full of pens on them. There’s also rows and rows of bookcases all stuffed full of books.

Naturally, both the returns desk and the help desk are staffed: the returns desk by a bright-looking young boy, and the help desk by a serious-looking man.

Beyond the shelves of books, there’s a steel door to the left, as well as a wooden door to the right.]

[There are a lot of these. Dozens of cases, maybe.

Casual examination will show that every book has a name on the spine, and that they're alphabetized.

This is also where you poke at the doors I guess??]

[The boy's name tag says 'Miyazawa Kenji'. He smiles if you approach him.]

Welcome to the library!

HELP

[The man's name tag reads 'Mori Rintarou'. He tips his head in acknowledgement if you approach.]

How may I be of assistance?

[When Chuuya didn't come home from work, Atsushi walk goes back out to find him. He heads over to the library first, to see if he stayed over to read when he finds him sleeping at the library. He rushes over to carry him back home when he's transported to a library after he touches him.

It's a different from the one in the City. He walks over to the books case to see that every book has a name on it. He's a little surprised to find himself there, though if this is something by Chuuya he would be there. He'll check that out later, now it's time to figure out where he is.

Atsushi walks over to the door and pushes it open.]

Hello? Is anyone here?

[Which door do you mean, Atsushi? The steel one or the wooden one?]

[chazukefang]

[The steel one!]

[goatsongs]

[It's locked. And no amount of tiger strength will break it down, even if Atsushi tries that.]

[chazukefang]

[It looks like it won't open, it makes him wonder what's behind it, but he'll leave it for now. He'll go over to the wooden door to try that one.]

GARDEN

[You exit the library and enter a garden, or someone’s idea of a garden. It’s almost entirely filled with cacti, but there’s more than enough space for you to walk through without pricking yourself. There’s also a bucket of water, presumably for watering said cacti.

On the other end of the garden, there’s another wall of the library, and a piece of paper stuck to the wall.]

[It opens up into a garden.]

[Atsushi frowns as he looks around the garden. There are so many cacti around here even some water for them, though he's not getting pricked at all. He continues to walk through the garden, until he ends up at the other wall of the library. He looks at the piece of paper and takes it off the wall.]

[goatsongs]

[In Chuuya's handwriting, the paper says, 'What to plant next?']

[chazukefang]

[Atsushi reads it as he looks around. What to plant next? Maybe there's some seeds or something nearby. He walks around to try and find them.]

[goatsongs]

[There don't seem to be any seeds here, but he might notice that the cacti bend away from him if he gets too close.]

[chazukefang]

[Wait, they are bending away from him. Atsushi tries to get close to the cacti again when it leans back again. Wait, maybe using the water can help. He grabs the can and gets close to water them to see what will happen next.]

[goatsongs]

[When they're watered, two of the cacti bend away from each other instead of away from Atsushi, revealing a pen lying on the ground between them.

Someone dropped a pen in a garden, how rude.]

[ Oh, now what?

As if his time here hasn't been bad enough, now he's dealing with all... all of whatever this is? Akutagawa tenses, visibly bristling, and after a moment of furious silence he storms over to the help desk. Obviously, this is anothe rone of the city's tricks - so obviously, he needs to play along. So-- ]

Where's Chuuya?

[ ... That probably doesn't count as playing along, actually, but oh well. ]

[It's Ryuunosuke. This is pretty good for Ryuunosuke.]

Deeper inside his heart.

[Which makes no sense without having explained that this is his heart.]

If you're looking for him, I'd suggest looking for your own book.

[Hmm, well, Chuuya is a poet the pen does make sense. Atsushi walks over to pick it up as he looks at it.

Now that he has the pen where is he supposed to go?]

[ These shelves are so organized, it's easy to find what one might be looking for. (His works are there too, he notices. Oh. Hm. Alright then.)

It takes a little while, but eventually Ryuunosuke goes over to the doors. Steel seems so cold, in a way, so he tries the wooden one first. ]

[There's only two 'Akutagawa Ryuunosuke' books there, though. Strange.

The wooden door opens up into the garden.]

[Are you still holding the paper you took from the wall, Atsushi?]

[miasthma]

[ Oh, what is this obscure bullshit--

Fine. Fine. He'll play along, if only because he's sure that murdering this guy won't get him anywhere. There's just one problem. ]

I don't own any books.

They're sorted alphabetically by subject. Yours should be on the left side - it's the thicker volume than the other 'Akutagawa Ryuunosuke' book.

[Even though Chuuya met that Akutagawa first, he has more to say about this one, it seems.]

[ It's a book about him?

That makes more sense, but it's much creepier. Akutagawa gives Mori (he's not thinking about the fact that this is Mori) a hard look, then shoves his hands in his pockets and stalks off. Time to find this book.

Akutagawa, Akutagawa... ah, there it is. He finds it, scowls at it, then reaches out to pull it off the shelf. Let's check out that book cover, first. ]
